Dewey’s sedge

Dewey’s Sedge (Carex deweyana) is a mid-sized sedge found in woodlands and on the edges of wetlands. It features thin, deep green leaves that delicately bend low to the ground. The base of the plant is often sheathed in fibrous brown leaves from the previous season. The flower stalks reach just under a metre tall, and grow outwards in an arc, rather than upwards. Dewey’s Sedge grows in moist or dry soils in full or partial shade.
