Finely Nerved Sedge (Carex leptonervia) is a small woodland sedge. This plant prefers average or moist soil, and can also tolerate some sun. It features 2 distinct, fine nerves along the sides of its perigynia, the leafy sac that surrounds the seed, although many of its other veins are quite fine and much harder to spot. While it is not a showy species, it can be used in a shady garden setting as a living mulch, providing a backdrop for focal plants.
