Rosy sedge (Carex rosea) grows as dense clumps of lush green leaves. Its star-like spikelets grow along stems that can reach heights of up to 50 cm. The leaves are typically shorter than the flowering stems, and are 2-3 mm wide. Rosy sedge is found in deciduous and mixed forests. It is tolerant of both full shade and some sun, as well as dry to moist soil, making it a versatile addition to any forest garden.
